Why would you put your head in the Pain Sphere seven (7) times? disregarding the blueprints because there were definitely other less brain-damaged people who could’ve stuck their Heads in the Pain Sphere if that was the only goal. ontologically i realize the existence of the Pain Sphere implies a sort of time-is-a-flat-circle interpretation of time travel so it happens because it already happened but that sucks it should be motivated. were the hallucinations even because of the Pain Sphere or were they just an unrelated phenomenon? could this subplot not have been resolved in, say, three scenes rather than seven (7)? […] was it because of Galena?

[...] Anyway, obviously the universe operates on block time theory, but the whole point was that my actions were my own. I put my head in the Pain Sphere seven (7) times to prove that I have free will. Yes, seven is a cosmologically significant number to the aliens, but who's to say that that number originated with the Zostrals and not with me? My human choices, echoing both directions through time.
I figured you would eventually. Little surprised you didn't go for it already. Wouldn't the greatest demonstration of free will be to die for the cause?
We really could've gone to the same parties. How'd you end up here?
Well, they saved the human race without Lorenzo's death, so clearly it wasn't necessary. You know their first draft pitch for the sequel originally ended with me having to carry a bomb to the kaiju nest and dying in the explosion because there was no other way to activate it?
The Comic-Con set? Explains your deep knowledge of Leviathan lore. Did someone force you to watch my movies?
I would've, certainly. You seem more tenacious than that.
I'm a professional; I was prepared to make the whole theater cry. [...] Still a stupid plot, but in hindsight, maybe it would've been better for my career if I'd died there.
okay, so in a way, Leviathan Domination was extremely good for your career in that it got you banished to the ass-end of the central valley (low population density, high guns per capita, demonstrably survivable). franchise creep saves lives
Not banished. It was a planned career pivot. But alright, it's a remarkably cursed demonstration of the butterfly effect that we're both here now because I made too many movies in five years, and you were camping during a pandemic.
A lot of sinful people in Hollywood, then. [...] Any time a good movie is made, it's a literal miracle. You've got anywhere between dozens to hundreds of people pulling together to actualize this thing that's only existed in someone's imagination, and even with the strictest captain on the tightest ship, the end result can't be totally controlled by anyone. What people see in it, what people take from it, can't be controlled by anyone.
Am I religious? Even the most commercial, cynical movie... I feel something in there trying to transcend.
extremely brave of you to, when entirely unfettered by executive meddling, create the exact same bloated franchise reboots you'd be making otherwise save with slightly more homoeroticism
you need someone to tell you no sometimes and I can't do that if you don't let me read your scripts

Oh my god. it is not that serious

I suppose you also think I should've died. (My character, not me. Although...!)

I don't have any control over the script, but if I did... I'm skeptical that anything is worth dying for.

it would've taken a lot to get me out of my house. Maybe Greg save my lI can't believe you're still ruminating about your movie career. it's over. it's all gone.

I'm still alive. It isn't gone until I am, and even then... it's all on DVD somewhere.
